About Us

Brady Poppinga (Founder of the XPT brand of fitness equipment) is a former professional American football player who enjoyed a successful career in the National Football League (NFL) as a linebacker. Born on September 21, 1979, in Evanston, Wyoming, Poppinga’s passion for sports and physical fitness emerged at a young age. He used that passion to become an all state football and basketball player at Evanston High School.

After playing college football at Brigham Young University, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Poppinga spent several seasons with the Packers, showcasing his exceptional skills and contributing to the team’s success, including winning Super Bowl XLV.

Following his tenure with the Packers, Poppinga went on to play for the St. Louis Rams and the Dallas Cowboys before retiring from professional football in 2013. Throughout his NFL career, he demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and a tireless work ethic, qualities that undoubtedly influenced his innovative contribution to weightlifting.
